Vitacura and Las Condes are home to Santiago's finest dining.
These are our personal favourites.
Seafood · Beach-to-Table · #14 LA 50 Best
Casa Las Cujas
Vitacura · Alonso de Córdova
Born on the coast of Cachagua, this is the hardest reservation in Santiago right now.
The Raide brothers bring the spirit of the Pacific directly to the city with a menu
built around Chile's maritime bounty: Patagonian king crab, locos and the best pisco sours
in town. Book weeks in advance.
Italian · Neapolitan Pizza · Nueva Costanera
Brunapoli
Vitacura · Nueva Costanera
The best Neapolitan pizza in Santiago — and on Nueva Costanera's competitive restaurant row,
that is saying something. The dough is authentic: light, charred at the crust, and
made properly. The Giuseppe — a Margherita with ricotta-filled borders — is the one to
order. Beyond pizza, the pastas and vitello tonnato hold their own. Tall ceilings, a buzzy
room, a large outdoor terrace, and a crowd that shows up in numbers every night.
Arrive with a reservation or expect to wait.
Japanese · Nikkei · 50Best Discovery
Fukasawa
Vitacura · Casa Costanera Rooftop
One of Chile's finest Japanese restaurants sits atop a shopping mall, defying expectations.
Chef Marcos Baeza (friend of the family) and his sons pay homage to Nikkei traditions
through extraordinary cooking: soft shell crab temaki, risotto with sea urchin and
salmon with foie gras.
Japanese Robata · Izakaya
DonDoh
Vitacura · Nueva Costanera
DonDoh brings the ancient art of robata grilling to a sleek, moody dining room.
The charcoal grill sits at the centre, producing vibrant dishes like asado de tira on bao
and author cocktails at the Kunsei Bar. Loud, vivid and fun. Reservations
essential on weekends.
Bistro · Mediterranean · Late Night
Tigre & El Toro
Vitacura · Alonso de Córdova
Two animals, one address. El Toro is a Santiago institution beloved for its honest cooking
and inclusive atmosphere. Next door, Tigre is a contemporary French bistro with a 40-wine list.
Go for the architecture and wine at Tigre; stay for the tortilla at El Toro.
Italian · Pizzeria · A Santiago Classic
Tiramisú
Las Condes · Isidora Goyenechea
The most consistently full restaurant in Santiago for over two decades. A stone's throw from
the W Hotel, Tiramisú is the city's great democratic gathering place. Exceptional thin-crust
pizzas and craft beer on tap. The namesake dessert is the only way to finish.
& beyond
Santiago punches well above its weight when it comes to food — from world-class tasting
menus to neighbourhood spots that will make you want to cancel your flight home. Beyond
the restaurants featured above, the city has plenty more worth exploring:
La Cabrera, EXÓ,
Osaka, Karai by Mitsuharu,
99 Restaurante, La Calma by Fredes,
La Mar, Bar Jardín Secreto,
Europeo, Mestizo,
Siete Negronis, Arca,
Naoki, Tío Tomate,
Kintaro Ramen Bar, Lolita Jones,
Panchita — and that is far from exhaustive.
Or simply take a walk. Av. Nueva Costanera,
Alonso de Córdova and Isidora Goyenechea are
lined with excellent restaurants one after another, in every direction. Some of the best
discoveries in this city happen completely by accident.
