Santiago de Chile

Our favourite places

A curated guide to Santiago's finest —
where to eat and what to explore.

01 —

Where to eat

Vitacura and Las Condes are home to Santiago's finest dining. These are our personal favourites.

Casa Las Cujas seafood
Seafood · Beach-to-Table · #14 LA 50 Best

Casa Las Cujas

Vitacura · Alonso de Córdova

Born on the coast of Cachagua, this is the hardest reservation in Santiago right now. The Raide brothers bring the spirit of the Pacific directly to the city with a menu built around Chile's maritime bounty: Patagonian king crab, locos and the best pisco sours in town. Book weeks in advance.

Brunapoli Neapolitan Pizza
Italian · Neapolitan Pizza · Nueva Costanera

Brunapoli

Vitacura · Nueva Costanera

The best Neapolitan pizza in Santiago — and on Nueva Costanera's competitive restaurant row, that is saying something. The dough is authentic: light, charred at the crust, and made properly. The Giuseppe — a Margherita with ricotta-filled borders — is the one to order. Beyond pizza, the pastas and vitello tonnato hold their own. Tall ceilings, a buzzy room, a large outdoor terrace, and a crowd that shows up in numbers every night. Arrive with a reservation or expect to wait.

Fukasawa Nikkei kitchen
Japanese · Nikkei · 50Best Discovery

Fukasawa

Vitacura · Casa Costanera Rooftop

One of Chile's finest Japanese restaurants sits atop a shopping mall, defying expectations. Chef Marcos Baeza (friend of the family) and his sons pay homage to Nikkei traditions through extraordinary cooking: soft shell crab temaki, risotto with sea urchin and salmon with foie gras.

DonDoh Robata Grill
Japanese Robata · Izakaya

DonDoh

Vitacura · Nueva Costanera

DonDoh brings the ancient art of robata grilling to a sleek, moody dining room. The charcoal grill sits at the centre, producing vibrant dishes like asado de tira on bao and author cocktails at the Kunsei Bar. Loud, vivid and fun. Reservations essential on weekends.

Tigre & El Toro
Bistro · Mediterranean · Late Night

Tigre & El Toro

Vitacura · Alonso de Córdova

Two animals, one address. El Toro is a Santiago institution beloved for its honest cooking and inclusive atmosphere. Next door, Tigre is a contemporary French bistro with a 40-wine list. Go for the architecture and wine at Tigre; stay for the tortilla at El Toro.

Tiramisú Pizzeria
Italian · Pizzeria · A Santiago Classic

Tiramisú

Las Condes · Isidora Goyenechea

The most consistently full restaurant in Santiago for over two decades. A stone's throw from the W Hotel, Tiramisú is the city's great democratic gathering place. Exceptional thin-crust pizzas and craft beer on tap. The namesake dessert is the only way to finish.

& beyond

Santiago punches well above its weight when it comes to food — from world-class tasting menus to neighbourhood spots that will make you want to cancel your flight home. Beyond the restaurants featured above, the city has plenty more worth exploring: La Cabrera, EXÓ, Osaka, Karai by Mitsuharu, 99 Restaurante, La Calma by Fredes, La Mar, Bar Jardín Secreto, Europeo, Mestizo, Siete Negronis, Arca, Naoki, Tío Tomate, Kintaro Ramen Bar, Lolita Jones, Panchita — and that is far from exhaustive.

Or simply take a walk. Av. Nueva Costanera, Alonso de Córdova and Isidora Goyenechea are lined with excellent restaurants one after another, in every direction. Some of the best discoveries in this city happen completely by accident.

What to explore

Santiago is a city of mountains, vineyards and culture. These are the experiences we recommend to guests visiting for the first time.

Concha y Toro winery
Wine · History · Maipo Valley

Concha y Toro

Pirque · 40 min south

Chile's most famous winery, founded in 1883 at the foot of the Andes. Walk through centennial gardens, descend into the legendary Casillero del Diablo cellar, and taste premium Cabernet Sauvignon and Carmenère. Book the Marqués de Casa Concha tour for the full experience.

Viña Santa Rita estate
Wine · Boutique · Maipo Valley

Viña Santa Rita

Buin · 45 min south

One of Chile's great historic estates set in a colonial hacienda. Famous for its 120 label—a reference to the patriots who hid in its cellars during Chile's independence. The Premium Tour is outstanding, featuring vineyards and an atmospheric underground cellar.

Kingston Family Vineyards
Wine · Cool Climate · Casablanca

Kingston Family Vineyards

Casablanca Valley · 1.5 hrs west

The most acclaimed boutique winery in Casablanca Valley—consistently rated number one on TripAdvisor for the region. A family-run estate producing exceptional cool-climate wines. The intimate tasting feels like visiting a private home. Best paired with a drive to Valparaíso. Reservations essential.

Cajón del Maipo canyon
Nature · Andes Canyon · Day Trip

Cajón del Maipo

Lo Barnechea · 1 hr east

An hour east of the city, the world changes completely. A dramatic Andean canyon carved by the Maipo River with volcanic rock and turquoise streams. Visit the Embalse El Yeso reservoir for its impossibly blue water. An extraordinary natural escape almost unknown to international visitors.

El Morado Glacier
Nature · Glaciers · Wilderness

Monumento Natural El Morado

Cajón del Maipo · 2 hrs east

A high-altitude park at over 2,500m centered around the San Francisco glacier and a lagoon of otherworldly color. The 3-hour hike through Andean steppe offers silence and serious beauty. Bring layers and sun protection. Best visited between November and April.

Cerro Manquehue view
Hiking · Iconic Summit

Cerro Manquehue & Manquehuito

Lo Barnechea · 30 min from hotels

The mountain visible from almost every hotel window in Vitacura. Manquehue is the hike Santiago locals do—a genuine trail with extraordinary 360° views. Manquehuito is the gentler sibling, ideal for a shorter morning out. No special equipment required, just water and good shoes.

Casacostanera and Parque Arauco shopping
Shopping · Vitacura & Las Condes

Casacostanera & Parque Arauco

Steps from the hotels

Casacostanera is a sleek open-air mall with luxury brands and rooftop Andes views. Parque Arauco is one of Latin America's best-stocked malls with international brands, dining, and cinema. Both are minutes away from the recommended hotels in the Vitacura/Las Condes area.
